As an international jewelry designer, there’s no greater blessing than “May you have harmony in all six directions and wealth from all eight points of the compass.” On one hand, we hope our designs gain global recognition and attract customers from around the world. On the other hand, the jewelry industry’s entire supply chain truly gathers strength from across the globe. “Harmony in all six directions and wealth from all eight points of the compass”—we wish to share this beautiful blessing with everyone.
This ring is a gift Monica gave herself. The main stone, a jadeite pi xiu, was selected over an entire month from hundreds of options. It is large, with exceptional clarity, fine craftsmanship, and a hint of soft celadon green. The pi xiu has traditionally been believed to attract wealth and protect against evil.
Monica first took an interest in this shape when she saw a colleague in the diamond wholesale business wearing a large pi xiu ring. However, finding a good one proved to be challenging. The biggest obstacle was often the lack of sufficient thickness; many pi xiu either had poor shapes or insufficient material. They might have had color or clarity, but they failed to meet my high standards. Pi xiu with good thickness could even rival beads in quality, and their prices were exceptionally high. With the pi xiu’s auspicious meaning of attracting wealth, the number of customers seeking them is like an endless stream, yet truly excellent pi xiu are rare. For this pi xiu, Monica carefully created two versions of sketches, and after several revisions, the design was finalized.
Our design style is indeed quite unique, and we have very high requirements for mounting craftsmanship. The mounting cost for this 18K gold ring is extremely expensive. Not only does it use a lot of gold, but it also features a large number of diamonds and various gemstones. With such a significant investment, the results are evident. Now, it has become an original jewelry piece that amazes the world, filled with Chinese elements: ruyi, copper coins, auspicious clouds, and flower pattern. At the same time, it showcases Western mounting techniques to the fullest. After a long wait, our first jadeite pi xiu design is complete, presenting a unique design style and a higher pursuit in craftsmanship.
